Turkiye Arrests More Than 100 Suspected ISIS Members in Istanbul
Ankara, December 25 (QNA) - Turkish authorities said they had arrested more than 100 suspected ISIS members in Istanbul, accusing them of planning attacks during New Year celebrations.
According to a statement from the Istanbul public prosecutor's office, 115 suspects were detained following an investigation into alleged ISIS-linked activities targeting Turkiye.
The prosecutor's office said intelligence gathered by Istanbul police counter-terrorism units indicated that the group was planning attacks during New Year festivities, with potential targets including non-Muslims.
Police carried out simultaneous raids at 124 locations across Istanbul, during which weapons, ammunition and organisational documents were seized, the statement added.
Officials said operations were continuing in other parts of the country as authorities search for additional suspects linked to the alleged plot. (QNA)
