Egyptian, Saudi Foreign Ministers Discuss Developments in Gaza, Sudan in Phone Call
Cairo, December 23 (QNA) - Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, discussed regional issues of common concern, and ways to strengthen bilateral relations in a phone call on Tuesday.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry stated in a press release that the call addressed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip.
Abdelatty reviewed Egypt's ongoing efforts to solidify and sustain the ceasefire and to advance the implementation of the second phase of the US President's plan.
He stressed the importance of moving to the next phase, which includes forming a temporary Palestinian technocratic committee to manage the daily affairs of citizens in the Strip, paving the way for the Palestinian Authority to resume its full role.
Regarding developments in Sudan, the two ministers emphasized the importance of continuing coordination within the framework of the Quartet mechanism, with the aim of achieving a comprehensive ceasefire.
Both sides stressed the importance of continued close coordination and consultation during the next phase, in order to support regional stability and enhance joint Arab action in the face of current regional challenges. (QNA)
