Palestinian President, Cypriot Counterpart Discuss Latest Developments in Palestine
Ramallah, December 21 (QNA) - Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas discussed the latest political developments and the current situation in Palestine, particularly in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, in a telephone call today with his Cypriot counterpart, Nikos Christodoulides. They also discussed ways to achieve peace in accordance with international law.
During the call, the Palestinian President stressed the need to halt Israeli violations in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, especially the cessation of settlement expansion and settler terrorism, and the release of withheld Palestinian funds.
He reiterated the State of Palestine's readiness to assume its responsibilities in the Gaza Strip, as well as its readiness to work with US President Donald Trump, mediators, and partners to implement the two-state solution in accordance with international law and to achieve the Palestinian people's freedom and independence.
