Israeli Occupation Forces Advance into Syria's Daraa Countryside
Damascus, December 22 (QNA) - Israeli occupation forces conducted a new incursion Monday into the western countryside of Daraa, southern Syria.
The occupation forces established a temporary checkpoint at Al-Maqsam junction in the area between the villages of Maariya and Abdeen, restricting local movement, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported.
Areas in the western countryside of Daraa regularly witness Israeli incursions, accompanied by temporary checkpoints or sudden military movements, which negatively affect the daily lives of residents and undermine local stability.
An Israeli patrol comprising two military vehicles on Sunday thrust deeper into northern Quneitra and set up a checkpoint, while another patrol advanced west of Al-Rafid town in southern Quneitra countryside.
The Israeli occupation continues its belligerent policies and violations of the 1974 Disengagement of Forces Agreement through repeated incursions into southern Syria and attacks on civilians.
Syria has repeatedly called for the implementation of the UN resolutions and an end to the Israeli occupation of Syrian territory, urging the international community to assume its responsibilities in deterring these unlawful practices. (QNA)
