Occupied Jerusalem, December 20 (QNA) - The Israeli occupation forces on Saturday continued their incursions into several parts of the occupied West Bank, coupled with detention campaigns.

These operations resulted in wounding two Palestinians and arresting a young man, concomitantly with the settlers' assaults on Palestinian towns and villages.

Palestinian security sources reported that Israeli occupation forces apprehended a young man from Silwad, northeast of Ramallah, while he was passing through a military checkpoint between the town and an adjacent locality.

In the northern part of occupied Jerusalem, a 52‑year‑old Palestinian man was shot by occupation forces in the foot near the separation barrier in the town of Al Ram and was immediately hospitalized, the sources added.

Meanwhile, a 22-year-old Palestinian man sustained a serious gunshot wound to his chest by Israeli occupation forces during the latter's incursion into Silat Al Harithiya, west of Jenin.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society stated that its personnel responded to the critical injury and performed a cardiopulmonary resuscitation procedure after live ammunition was fired at civilians by the occupation forces.

In a parallel development, Israeli occupation forces raided the town of Turmus Ayya and the villages of Al Mughayyir, Khirbet Abu Falah, and Kafr Malik, northeast of Ramallah, without reports of arrests or detentions.

Ominously, settlers stormed the village of Burin, south of Nablus, conducting a provocative tour along the village outskirts and between residential homes.

Meanwhile, Israeli occupation forces raided the villages of East Al Laban, south of Nablus, and Rujeib, to its east, with their military vehicles traversing the streets of both localities.

In western Ramallah, armed settlers attacked the village of Shaqba, breaking into a home and a playground on the northern edge of the village and tampering with their contents.

According to the Palestinian Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Israeli occupation forces and settlers conducted 2,144 assaults during last November, including 1,523 attacks carried out by the occupation army and 621 assaults by settlers.

The assaults were primarily concentrated in the Ramallah and Al Bireh governorates with 360 incidents, Hebron with 348, Bethlehem with 342, and Nablus with 334 incidents. (QNA)
