Two Palestinians Killed, Others Wounded in Israeli Bombing of Gaza
Gaza, December 2 (QNA) – Two Palestinians were killed and others wounded in Israeli shelling Tuesday evening on various areas of the Gaza Strip.
Field sources reported that Israeli occupation forces escalated their artillery shelling and gunfire today, targeting civilian homes in areas not under temporary Israeli control according to the ceasefire agreement, east of the Zeitoun, Shuja'iyya, and Tuffah neighborhoods in eastern Gaza City.
Spokesman for the Civil Defense in Gaza Mahmoud Basal said that two Palestinians, one of them a child, were killed and more than 15 others were wounded as a result of Israeli artillery shelling on a residential building in the Sanfour area of the Tuffah neighborhood, east of Gaza City.
Citizens were also wounded in another shelling that targeted Al Sikka Street in the Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of the city.
Several injuries, including children and women, were reported and transferred to Al Ma'madani Hospital, as a result of Israeli artillery shelling that targeted Al-Daraj School, which is sheltering displaced people, east of the city.
In the southern Gaza Strip, a Palestinian man was wounded by Israeli army fire in the cemetery area west of Khan Younis.
Israeli forces continued their aerial and artillery bombardment of various areas east of Khan Younis and Gaza City.
The death toll from the Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip has risen to 70,112 martyrs and 170,986 wounded since October 7, 2023.
A ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel came into effect on October 11, following the withdrawal of Israeli forces from populated areas and military positions in the Gaza Strip and the return of displaced Palestinians to northern Gaza.
This was part of the first phase of US President Donald Trump's initiative to end the war on Gaza. (QNA)
