Doha, December 19 (QNA) - Jordan head coach Jamal Sellami expressed his pride in the level of performance shown by the players, despite not being able to win the title after losing to Morocco 2-3, in the final match of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 at Lusail Stadium.

In his remarks during the match press conference on Thursday, the coach said that the final match lived up to its promise after the high technical level presented by both teams, with the match extending to two extra periods after a 2-2 draw in the original time.

The coach indicated that the Jordanian team, despite being down by a goal at the beginning of the match, had a wonderful reaction in the second half, and its players gave their all and even performed better than expected, and the team was close to coming out with a victory result.

The coach praised the high fighting spirit of the Jordanian national team players, stressing that they played with a team spirit and were disciplined on the field, but they encountered a strong and organized team that did not give up despite being behind in the score in the second half.

Sellami pointed out that the Moroccan team was able to win the match thanks to the experience of its players after the outstanding level they displayed during the final match, and they also took advantage of scoring opportunities.

He added that despite regretting losing the title, the Jordanian national team project continues, and they will continue working in the next stage. The goal is to prepare well so that the team is fully prepared to compete in the upcoming World Cup in 2026. The opportunity will be favorable for this generation in the national team to compete for titles in the future, after they showed a strong character during the current edition of the FIFA Arab Cup.

Sellami concluded his remarks by emphasizing that they will work in the future to develop the Jordanian local league competition so that it contributes to the emergence of young players who have the ability to represent the Jordanian national team in the best possible way. (QNA)
