6th Arab Ministerial Forum on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development Continues into Second Day

Doha, December 15 (QNA) - The Ministry of Social Development and Family continued the activities of the Sixth Arab Ministerial Forum on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development on its second day, with the participation of a distinguished group of officials, experts, and decision-makers. Today's sessions addressed a number of issues related to housing and social development, through presenting national experiences from several participating countries.

During its participation, the State of Qatar discussed its housing system in light of the Qatar National Development Strategy 2024-2030, highlighting national policies and efforts to enhance sustainability and quality of life.

The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan presented its experience through a session titled "Integrated Future Cities," focusing on comprehensive and sustainable development, and underscoring the role of integrated urban planning in supporting social development.

The Republic of Iraq addressed its national housing policy in one of the sessions, with an emphasis on the challenges and opportunities related to providing adequate housing.

For its part, the Arab Republic of Egypt discussed housing legislation and policies aimed at improving the quality of life and ensuring the right of all citizens to adequate housing, reviewing legal frameworks that support social justice.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia showcased its experience through a session titled "The Homeownership Journey in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia," addressing initiatives and policies that contribute to strengthening family stability.

The Syrian Arab Republic discussed the topic of guaranteeing the right to adequate housing and basic humanitarian and social services, presenting the Syrian experience in social housing and highlighting key challenges and the mechanisms adopted in this field.

The continuation of the forum's activities underscores the Ministry of Social Development and Family's commitment to supporting the exchange of expertise and promoting constructive dialogue among countries, in a manner that contributes to the development of social policies, empowerment of families, and building of more cohesive and sustainable communities.
