In exclusive statements to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the occasion of Qatar National Day, Captain Al Khanji said that commemorating this occasion every year is a confirmation of loyalty to its founder's journey, as well as the unity of the leadership, government and people. It also reflects the strength of the Qatari identity and the continuation of the approach that guarantees the country's stability and prosperity, he added. Qatar National Day plays a pivotal role in instilling and strengthening the values of loyalty and belonging among the country's citizens, he noted, highlighting the day as an occasion that embodies the strong relationship between the people and their leadership, and affirms pride in the Qatar's achievements and its future vision. It also contributes to deepening awareness of Qatar's history and development journey, and reinforces the values of sacrifice, work, and loyalty to the homeland, he continued, noting that it strengthens the spirit of solidarity and encourages generations to emulate the sacrifices made by their fathers and forefathers to establish a strong and unified state under the wise leadership of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. Regarding the most prominent achievements of Mwani Qatar during 2025, he pointed out that this year marked an important milestone in Mwani Qatar's journey towards consolidating the State of Qatar's position as a leading regional center for trade and logistics and a vital hub in global supply chains, in line with the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030 (QNV 2030) and the Third National Development Strategy 2024-2030. This year witnessed a series of achievements that contributed to significant progress in implementing the Ministry of Transport's strategic plan, which aims to transform the State of Qatar into a vibrant commercial and logistics hub in the region, he added. He affirmed that these achievements have strengthened the position of Mwani Qatar as a strategic link in global supply chains, and a reliable gateway that contributes to diversifying the national economy and enhancing its stability, whether through global trade via Hamad Port, or through regional trade via Al Ruwais Port, or through supporting the tourism sector via the cruise ship terminal in the Old Doha port. One of the most notable achievements during the year was Hamad Port ranking first place in the Gulf and eleventh globally in the World Bank's 2024 Container Port Performance Index (CPPI), at a time when the port is witnessing a major expansion in its shipping network and a 23 percent growth in reshipped containers, which constituted about 48 percent of the total containers handled during the year, he said. He pointed out that Hamad Port entered the Guinness Book of World Records by implementing the largest project to transfer and relocate mangrove trees in the world, making this the second environmental achievement recorded by the port in the global encyclopedia, reflecting its commitment to sustainable environmental practices. On the cybersecurity front, he noted that Mwani Qatar had obtained the ISO 27001 quality certificate in information security management systems, a step that confirms its commitment to applying the highest standards of protection and reliability in data management. Regarding operations, Captain Al Khanji revealed that more than 1.229 million containers were handled between January and October 2025, with transit containers re-shipped through Hamad Port constituting approximately 50 percent of this total, reflecting its growing status as a regional hub port.
