Arab League Discusses Modern Technologies, International Humanitarian Law at Second Regional Conference
Cairo, December 10 (QNA) - The second regional conference on "Modern Technologies and International Humanitarian Law: Autonomous Weapons Systems and Artificial Intelligence in the Military Domain," commenced today at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo.
Experts from Arab countries and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) are participating in the two-day conference, organized by the Arab League's Department of Arms Control and Disarmament of the International Political Affairs Sector, in cooperation with the ICRC.
The conference comes within the framework of international efforts aimed at developing a shared vision and an international stance regarding the challenges arising from the use of modern technologies in military operations, and the associated humanitarian, legal, and ethical implications, given the accelerating global adoption of such technologies in military operations.
