Rabat, November 09 (QNA) - The Third International Exhibition of Children's & Youth Books-Casablanca kicked off Saturday in Casablanca, Morocco, featuring wide global participation. The event will run until Nov. 16, 2025.

Over 340 exhibitors from more than 30 countries are taking part in this expo, which also welcomed UNICEF as guest of honor, alongside national, regional, and international institutions engaged in cultural affairs.

Across an intensive eight-day program, the event showcases book-signing sessions and professional workshops covering diverse topics such as the creation of cultural content on social media platforms and the art of poetry writing.

This current expo aims to spellbind families, children, and young people by integrating interactive parallel activities designed to strengthen the connection between the younger generation and printed books, highlighted Morocco's Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid.

Laura Beal, UNICEF representative in Morocco, said the organization is greatly honored to take part as guest of honor, affirming that reading is a powerful means of promoting awareness of children's rights.

Director General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), Dr. Salem bin Mohammed Al Malek, affirmed that the exhibition serves as an annual landmark for inculcating the habit of reading in emerging generations.

This flagship event represents a dynamic cultural platform, striving to elevate the role of books in the lives of young people and reinforce the values of citizenship and the right to knowledge, in line with a national vision open to global partnerships. (QNA)
