Makkah Al-Mukarramah, November 30 (QNA) -  The Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue (DICID) took part in the inauguration ceremony of the online platform "Minhaj" launched by the Muslim World League (WML) in Makkah Al Mukarramah.

The ceremony was attended by a contingent of representatives and leaders of Islamic institutions and centers, alongside religious bodies from across the Islamic world and minority states.

Also attending were top-rung scholars and thinkers, underscoring the WML's scientific standing and leading role on the global stage.

Representing DICID at the ceremony was HE Chairperson Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi.

The participation was part of the center's commitment to attending scientific and digital initiatives that back reliable Sharia knowledge, promote joint human tenets, provide a refined ground for dialogue, coexistence, and pluralism among followers of religions and cultures.

This is in addition to deepening this knowledge and civilizational bridges and operating side by side with WML and other global institutions to strengthen values of dialogue and social peace and constructive coexistence among followers of religions and cultures.

It likewise reflects the persistent productive collaboration between DICID and WML, featuring engagement in the activities of the other, as well as constant communication to ensure supporting joint initiatives and achieving practical and knowledge successes.

This participation reflects DICID's keenness to follow up on digital and scholarly initiatives that support reliable religious knowledge, promote the values of dialogue, coexistence, and pluralism among followers of different religions and cultures, and serve as a qualitative source and contribution to religious and human sciences in the contemporary digital era, Dr. Al Nuaimi highlighted.

He further emphasized that this participation was also an opportunity to reaffirm the close relationship and ongoing collaboration between DICID and WML, characterized by harmony and joint work in the fields of interfaith dialogue, pluralism, and the promotion of societal peace, alongside active engagement in projects and initiatives aimed at consolidating moderation, spreading religious awareness grounded in knowledge, and forging people-to-people civilizational and religious connections.

The keenness showed by WML to launch this kind of sophisticated digital platform at this early cutting-edge scientific and digital technology that honors existential artificial intelligence reflects a direct and indirect boldness of Muslim Ummah young people and its individuals to focus on science and technology and foster their openness to the knowledges of the digital era, he noted.

Dr. Al Nuaimi underlined that such initiatives demonstrate the foresight of major Islamic institutions, as scholars, clerics, and religious institutions oftentimes remain isolated from such scholarly output, but the vision of WML affirms the importance of integrating reliable religious knowledge with technological innovation.

DICID will always expound the ethics of Islam and its human tenets on digital and social media platforms to serve interfaith dialogue and cultures relaying the message of mercy to humankind, Dr. Al Nuaimi stressed.

He noted that stemming from this point, the center chose the theme of the 16th Doha Conference on Interfaith Dialogue to be "Religious Dialogue in the Digital Age: New Horizons for Peacebuilding", which is set to convene from April 21 to 23, 2026, to explore the opportunities of the digital age and its modern tools, including artificial intelligence, so as to foster understanding and coexistence.

This digital initiative is as invaluable and productive as the Minhaj platform in having the engagement of both youth and institutions in a responsible digital conversation, thereby bolstering the role of cutting-edge technologies in deepening peace values, propagating reliable knowledge, and instilling joint human tenets, Dr. Al Nuaimi elaborated.

Dr. Al Nuaimi lauded Minhaj's invaluable initiative as a holistic and polished Islamic reference that encourages rising generations to seize the opportunity of the digital age for the service of thought, research, and dialogue.

In essence, Minhaj is an outstanding digital project showcasing religious content and time-honored knowledge, combining scholarly grounding with the use of modern technologies, providing a comprehensive system of religious, research, and educational resources.

Its objectives align closely with the spirit of The Charter of Makkah, which intends to consolidate moderation, coexistence, and mutual respect among the diverse components of the Muslim ummah.

The initiative reinforces the principles of moderation and pluralism, facilitates access to reliable scholarly and religious resources supporting academic and research institutions, and promotes accurate awareness of religious values within a rapidly changing global context.

This platform, alongside the theme of the 16th Doha Conference on Interfaith Dialogue, represents a terrific move not only in religious digital education, but also as a vital component that energizes the efforts of international dialogue and understanding. (QNA)
