Doha, November 25 (QNA) – The Kuwaiti national team defeated the Mauritanian team 2-0 in their match on Tuesday at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium, in the qualifiers for the Arab Cup FIFA Qatar 2025.

Kuwait's goals were scored by Mohammed Daham in the 8th minute and an own goal by Mauritania's Nouh Mohamed in the 24th minute.

Following this victory, the Kuwaiti national team qualified directly for the Arab Cup FIFA Qatar 2025, where they will play in Group C alongside Egypt, the UAE, and Jordan.

The Kuwaiti national team delivered a strong performance against Mauritania, deserving their victory and qualification. They started the match brilliantly, needing only eight minutes to open the scoring. A cross was headed in by Kuwait's Mohammed Daham, who capitalized on a defensive error by Mauritania, giving Kuwait the lead.

Mauritania attempted to equalize, creating a dangerous opportunity in the 17th minute, but Kuwaiti goalkeeper Khaled Al Rashidi was equal to the task and made a crucial save.

The two sides continued to exchange chances until Kuwait extended their lead in the 24th minute. Mauritania's Nouh Mohammed inadvertently headed a cross from Mohammed Daham into his own net, giving Kuwait a 2-0 advantage.

The Mauritanian team then applied significant pressure to reduce the deficit, but the Kuwaiti team played with organized discipline in midfield and defense, successfully maintaining their lead to end the first half with a 2-0 advantage.

At the start of the second half, Mauritania intensified their pressure in an attempt to equalize. They managed to score their first goal in the 56th minute through Mokhtar El Hacen, who capitalized on a superb cross, heading it into the Kuwaiti net. However, the goal was disallowed for offside after a VAR review.

Mauritania continued their efforts to reduce the deficit but failed to capitalize on the opportunities that came their way. Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti team maintained their organized lines, and the experience of their players played a crucial role in preserving their lead until the final whistle.

Kuwait's qualification for the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 further enhances their record of participation in the tournament, having previously participated in eight of the ten editions.

It is noted that the number of fans who attended the match between the Kuwaiti and Mauritanian national teams at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Al Sadd Club reached 4,268 spectators. (QNA)
