Germany Dominates Individual Events at 47th CISM World Military Parachuting Championships in Qatar
Doha, November 21 (QNA) - German parachutists dominated the individual competitions at the 47th CISM World Military Parachuting Championships (CISM Qatar 2025), organized by the Qatar Air Sports Committee. The championships conclude tomorrow, Saturday, at Umm Shakhout Airport, with 320 parachutists representing 30 countries participating.
In the individual accuracy landing and style competitions for junior men, women, and juniors, the German team secured nine medals: three gold, three silver, and three bronze.
The medals were won in the accuracy landing and style events for juniors, women, and juniors. In contrast, the French team won four medals: two gold, one silver, and one bronze. The Chinese team secured three medals: one gold, one silver, and one bronze, in the accuracy landing and style competitions. Austria earned a single silver medal in the junior style competition, while the Czech Republic took bronze in the men's style event.
In the individual titles for the junior women's accuracy landing competition, France's Louise Pal took first place, followed by her compatriot Nathalie Hanser in second, and Germany's Zoe Stoll in third.
Chinese parachutist Yong Miao won the gold medal in the women's accuracy landing competition. France's Ludissy Oliver took silver, and China's Li Guoheng earned bronze.
In the women's individual sculls freestyle competition, Germany's Natalie Hanser won first place and the gold medal. Her compatriot Zoe Stoll took second place and the silver medal, while France's Louise Pal finished third, earning the bronze.
German skydiver Elias Kemer won the gold medal in the men's individual sculls freestyle competition. Austria's Michael Ubern took second place, and Germany's Magnus Stiller finished third.
France's Lucidy Oliver won first place and the gold medal in the women's individual sculls freestyle competition, adding another medal to her collection, having previously won silver in the accuracy landing event. China's Yu Li finished second, and Germany's Natalie Hanser took third place.
German skydiver Robin Giesmar won first place and the gold medal in the men's individual freestyle skydiving competition. His compatriot, Alesha Weber, took second place, while Czech skydiver Oldes Surf secured third place and the bronze medal.
The awards ceremony was attended by Commander of the Joint Special Forces and Chairman of the Qatar Air Sports Committee, Brigadier General Mohammed Zayed Al Otaibi; President of the International Military Sports Council, Colonel Nilton Gomez; Vice Chairman of the Qatar Air Sports Committee, Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Saeed Al Mansouri; and Secretary General of the Qatar Air Sports Committee, Captain Hazza Al Attiyah; along with several heads of participating delegations and members of the Qatar Air Sports Committee.
The Qatar Air Sports Committee received praise and appreciation from the International Air Sports Council and all participants for their warm welcome and genuine Qatari hospitality. The high-quality facilities and services provided to everyone were reflected in their outstanding performances and high level of skill.
In remarks, Vice Chairman of the Qatar Air Sports Committee, Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Al Mansouri affirmed that all the skydivers participating in the World Parachuting Championship performed admirably and presented spectacular formations in the skies of Doha. He congratulated the winners and the other participants who were not so fortunate this time.
He added, "In the Qatar Air Sports Committee, we are proud of the success of the championship on our soil and the overwhelming praise we have received, particularly from the International Military Sports Council (CISM) and the participating delegations. We consider this a badge of honor added to Qatar's distinguished record, reaffirming its remarkable ability to organize major international championships with excellence and high professionalism."
For his part, Secretary General of the Qatar Air Sports Committee, Captain Hazza Hamad Al Attiyah commended the outstanding technical level demonstrated by the skydivers during the championship competitions. He considered the championship a leading global platform that brought together people from around the world in one of the most beautiful sports, which garnered widespread acclaim.
He noted the sporting spirit that prevailed in the atmosphere of the tournament, which represents a unique meeting place where cultures meet and hearts connect within the framework of an exceptional human and sporting epic. (QNA)
