Doha, November 17 (QNA) – The Qatari men's team won first place in the team competition at the 47th CISM World Parachuting Championships 2025, currently being held in Doha. The competitions will continue until Nov. 23 at Umm Al Shokhot Airport.

The Qatari air sports team, comprised of seven athletes, won the target accuracy competition, taking first place. The Czech team came in second, and the Swiss team finished third.

In the men's individual category, Qatari athlete Khalid Shajaa topped the target accuracy competition, ahead of German athlete Robin Kröschmeier, who finished second. Qatari athlete Mohammed Al Marri took third place in the same category.

Qatar is participating with seven athletes, five of whom form a single team, and two in the junior category, in the championship, which features 320 male and female skydivers representing 30 countries. They are competing in the four-person formation, style, and target landing events for both men and women.

HE Commander of the Joint Special Forces and Chairman of the Qatar Air Sports Committee, Brigadier General Mohammed bin Zayed Al Otaibi, toured the championship venue, checking on the participating delegations and wishing them a pleasant stay in Qatar.

He also visited the judges' tent and listened to a briefing from Qatari international judge Mohammed Al Hajri. He concluded his tour by meeting with the young members of the organizing committee, praising their professional efforts.

The championship has attracted a large audience of schoolchildren and families who enjoyed watching the competitions and exploring the exhibits at the Qatar Air Sports Museum.

The competitions will continue on Tuesday, with the target accuracy competition at Umm Al Shokhot Airport, with the participation of Qatari champions who presented an outstanding technical level and achieved the top spot. (QNA)
