FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025/ England, Uganda, Italy, Japan Qualify for Round of 16

Doha, November 15 (QNA) - England made it to the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025 Round of 16, after defeating South Korea 2–0 in the Round of 32 match held at Al Mansour Muftah pitch on Saturday.

England took the lead when South Korean defender Hwi Jeong accidentally scored an own goal in the 28th minute, before Reigan Heskey doubled the score with a second goal in the 35th minute.

With this result, England will meet the winners of the Tunisia vs. Austria match in the Round of 16.

Uganda also booked their place in the next round after defeating Senegal 1–0 at the Mahmoud Soufi pitch.

Abubakali Walusimbi scored the match's only goal in the 15th minute, moving Uganda to the Round of 16 for the first time ever, where they will face the winners of the Germany vs. Burkina Faso match.

In a third match, Italy advanced to the Round of 16 after beating the Czech Republic 2–0 at the Mohammed Ghanim pitch today.

Antonio Arena opened Italy's scoring in the 52nd minute, before Valerio Maccaroni added the second goal in the 78th minute. Italy will now face the winners of the Croatia vs. Uzbekistan match.

Japan also reached the Round of 16 after a 3–0 victory over South Africa at the Bader Bilal pitch.

Japan's goals were scored by Hiroto Asada in the 48th minute, Minato Yoshida in the 59th minute, and Shota Fujii in the 72nd minute. Japan will meet the winners of the Venezuela vs. North Korea match in the next round. (QNA)
