Doha, November 12 (QNA) - Doha will host the 12th World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE), one of Qatar Foundation's global initiatives, under the theme: "Humanity.io: Human Values at the Heart of Education", from Nov. 24 to 25, 2025.
The biennial summit will bring together a select group of leaders, experts, and innovators from over 150 countries to highlight how human values can be embedded in education systems and ensure equity and access for all learners, particularly amid rapid developments in artificial intelligence and innovation.
Director of Programs at WISE, Aurelio de Amaral, said the summit aims to translate research knowledge into practical applications in collaboration with government and academic partners, noting that the WISE Testbed initiative enhances collaboration between QF and government schools by creating a system that helps local schools develop evaluation frameworks suited to their specific educational needs.
Since its inception, the WISE summit has convened more than 15,000 participants from diverse educational and research sectors worldwide, serving as a leading platform that brings together decision-makers and experts to exchange experiences and develop practical solutions to educational challenges.
Amaral highlighted that this year's six finalists for the 2025 WISE Prize for Education demonstrate how innovation can make education more inclusive, noting that their projects range from applying artificial intelligence in education, developing curricula in resource-limited environments, supporting education in refugee camps, enhancing access for visually impaired students, to teacher training and capacity building.
Director of Research and Policy at WISE, Selma Talha-Jebril, explained that the summit's research framework focuses on action-oriented studies to support decision-making, emphasizing that the core of WISE's work lies in scaling solutions that promote inclusion across diverse educational contexts.
Director of Strategy and Partnerships in QF's Higher Education division, Dr. Lolwa A. Al Naemi,آ highlighted that the foundation supports more than 300 students from over 120 nationalities through grants, scholarships, loans, and merit-based awards, noting that admissions policies at Education City universities are based on academic merit without discrimination.
آ She added that QF works to provide equitable, high-quality educational opportunities for all, fostering inclusivity and diversity in classrooms, and contributing to sustainable societal impact.
Through its initiatives and international partnerships, WISE continues to establish itself as a global platform that brings together leaders, thinkers, and innovators to discuss the future of education and build more equitable and fair education systems worldwide. (QNA)
