Pakistan Army Foils Attack on Military College, Kills Two Gunmen
Islamabad, November 11 (QNA) - The Pakistani army said it has killed two militants after foiling an attack on a military college in the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In a statement, the army said the attackers targeted the college in the town of Wana, where one assailant detonated a car bomb at the main gate while five others attempted to storm the compound.
Security forces repelled the assault, killing two of the attackers and surrounding the remaining three. The military added that operations were continuing to neutralise the militants still holed up near the site.
The incident comes a day after the army reported killing 20 militants during two separate security operations in the same region.
Pakistani forces have been carrying out intensified campaigns against armed groups based in the mountainous border areas, which frequently launch attacks on both security personnel and civilians. (QNA)
