Berlin, October 31 (QNA) - Germany's Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution has warned of escalating online propaganda activity by far-right groups. The agency confirmed that these groups are now using closed foreign platforms and encrypted networks to spread hate speech and target immigrants and Muslims.
In its report issued on Friday, the agency stated that the far right in Germany is employing artificial intelligence tools to generate visual and written propaganda materials. Some of these materials rely on alternative communication platforms that are not subject to European laws, making it difficult to track their activity.
The report added that technological advancements have allowed these groups to build closed digital environments resembling virtual communities, where they circulate videos and encrypted messages inciting violence against foreigners and Muslims and promoting conspiracy theories about immigration and asylum policies.
Thomas Haldenwang, head of the agency, emphasized that protecting the digital space has become a national priority. He explained that German security services will work to strengthen cooperation with social media platforms and global technology companies to remove extremist content and prosecute those responsible for it.
Haldenwang said , "Right-wing extremist groups have become more organized and coordinated in the digital world," noting that the agency has detected systematic attempts to recruit young people through entertainment content presented with a political or cultural veneer.
The report indicated that some groups seek to circumvent European censorship laws by relocating their activities to platforms that do not adhere to EU standards, while others use encrypted messaging applications that are difficult to monitor. (QNA)
