Doha, October 3 (QNA) - The Saudi national team won the Gulf U-17 Football Cup after defeating UAE team 2-0 in the final match held Friday at Grand Hamad Stadium.
The Saudi national team scored twice through Abdulaziz Al Fawaz and Abdulrahman Sufiani in the 18th and 45th minutes.
The Saudi national team showed their superiority during the match, scoring early through captain Abdulaziz Al Fawaz, who skillfully penetrated the UAE defense before sending a powerful shot into the net that UAE goalkeeper Jassim Al Hammadi was unable to stop in the 18th minute.
The Saudi national team materialize their dominance into a second goal after Abdulrahman Sufiani capitalized on a ball that fell inside the UAE penalty area and put it in the net in the 45th minute.
In the second half, the Saudi team maintained their attacking approach and had several opportunities to increase the score, while the UAE coach made some substitutions to close the gap.
Abdulrahman Sufiani almost doubled the Saudi team's lead with an attempt inside the penalty area, but UAE goalkeeper Jassim Al Hammadi saved the shot in the 89th minute, ending the match with a Saudi victory and the title. (QNA)
