Cairo, October 02 (QNA) – Barcelona claimed the IHF Men's Super Globe title after edging out defending champions Telekom Veszprem of Hungary with a dramatic 31–30 victory in the final held in Egypt.
In a tightly contested match, both teams exchanged momentum throughout. Barcelona led 13–12 at halftime, but Veszprem fought back to level the score at 21–21
in the second half, sending the game into extra time.
The first period of extra time ended with Veszprem ahead 25–24, before Barcelona leveled again at 26–26. The match went into a second set of extra time, with the teams tied 28–28 at the end of the third period. Barcelona finally secured the win 31–30 in the fourth and final period.
This marks Barcelona's sixth Super Globe title, their first since 2019, extending their record as the most successful club in the tournament's history. (QNA)
