Qatari Team Prepares Participation in Beach Volleyball U-18 World Championship
Doha, September 30 (QNA) - The Qatari volleyball team is preparing to take part in the FIVB Beach Volleyball U-18 World Championship, hosted by Doha from October 7 to 11 in Al Gharafa Beach Volleyball Centre.
Qatar will be represented by two men's teams and two women's teams. The men's first team consists of Moussa Al Khair and Ahmed Ziyad, while the second team includes Jassim Al Tamimi and Saad Al Awad.
For the women's side, the first team features Bandah Ibrahim and Maryam Mohoub, while the second team includes Lujain Mahmoud and Celine Mahmoud.
A total of 64 teams (32 men's and 32 women's) are taking part in the championship, with matches scheduled daily across four courts from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm.
This edition marks the first time the championship is hosted in the region, after previous editions were held in Thailand in 2021, Turkiye in 2022, and in China in 2024.
In the last edition, Poland won the men's title, with Latvia finishing second and Iran third. In the women's competition, the United States (US) claimed first and third places, while Spain secured second.
Amid exceptional organizational and extensive preparations by the Qatar Volleyball Association (QVA), participating teams have already begun arriving in Doha, with Chile being the first to arrive Monday evening. (QNA)
