Doha, November 17 (QNA) - The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has announced that this Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2024, will be designated as a remote learning day for all public schools in Qatar. This initiative aims to enhance the technological skills of teachers and students in education and learning.

In an official circular, the Ministry emphasized that the remote learning day is part of its efforts to diversify educational approaches and maximize the use of the advanced technological resources offered by e-learning platforms.

The Ministry clarified that the initiative will apply to all 215 public schools across Qatar, with the exception of kindergarten, where on-site education will continue as usual.

Parents of students from grades 1 to 12 have been provided with detailed instructions for the day. Students are expected to attend live-streamed lessons via the Qatar Education System platform.
Classes for elementary students will commence at 7:10 am, while classes for preparatory and secondary students will begin at 8:00 am.

The Ministry urged parents to ensure a quiet and conducive learning environment at home and to adhere to the schedules provided by schools to ensure students attend all their lessons. Attendance policies will apply, and students will be marked absent if they miss two sessions.

Additionally, the Ministry stressed the importance of preparing for the remote learning day by ensuring that the Qatar Education System and Microsoft Teams applications are updated to the latest versions on students devices, in addition to ensuring the availability of the username and password to facilitate the students entry into the system, and following the steps to recover the username or password when needed via https://pwdreset.edu.gov.qa/.

For technical support, parents can contact the Ministry's hotline at 155 or reach out to their childs school to address any challenges related to remote learning on this day. (QNA)
