Barcelona, October 01 (QNA) - Qatar Museums (QM) have participated in MONDIACULT 2025 in Barcelona, where it demonstrated its leadership in driving international cultural cooperation and creative innovation, in alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030 and UNESCO's global cultural policy framework.

Taking place from Sep. 29 to Oct. 1, MONDIACULT 2025 is the world's largest cultural policy conference that shapes the future global cultural agenda and advocates for culture as a stand-alone goal in the next UN development strategy.

Within the official program, Director of International Cooperation at Qatar Museums Dr. Fatema Al Sulaiti delivered a presentation titled "Creating Cultural Citizens: Empowering Youth through Design, Education, and Participation."

Her address underlined the central role of youth in cultivating cultural citizenship, drawing on examples from Doha that demonstrate how design, education, and participatory initiatives can empower young people, foster social inclusion, and strengthen knowledge-based societies. This contribution reflects both Qatar’s strategic priorities and MONDIACULT's cultural policy agenda, particularly in promoting sustainable development, international cooperation, and youth engagement.

On the sidelines of MONDIACULT, at the International Forum on Creative Tourism, Head of International Relations at Qatar Museums and Secretary of the Board of ICOM Qatar Dr. Rashid Ali Malheya presented "Will Museums Be the Next Business Disruption? From Creative Industries to Creative Tourism." Malheya highlighted Qatar Museums' pioneering role in integrating artificial intelligence and digital innovation into cultural tourism. By reimagining museums as active producers of creativity rather than passive custodians of heritage, his presentation showcased flagship QM initiatives, including the pilot AI Visitor Assistant, which transforms visitors from spectators into co-creators of culture, enhancing participation and building sustainable models of creative tourism.

Together, these contributions underscore Qatar Museums’ role as a catalyst of Qatar’s international cultural cooperation strategy, by bridging national vision with global policy priorities, empowering youth, and shaping innovative pathways for cultural sustainability in alignment with the principles of MONDIACULT and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
