One Killed, Another Wounded in Israeli Strikes in Southern Lebanon
Beirut, January 08 (QNA) - At least one person was killed and another injured as Israeli attacks continued in southern Lebanon, the Lebanese Ministry of Health reported.
According to the ministry, an Israeli drone targeted a car in the town of Jouya in the Tyre district, killing one person and wounding another.
Field sources also reported that Israeli forces shelled various areas in southern Lebanon with mortars and artillery, including parts of Kfar Kila, the outskirts of Deir Mimas near Tell Al Aziziyah, and Aitaroun, with one shell landing between Yaarun and Bint Jbeil.
The strikes come despite a ceasefire agreement in southern Lebanon that took effect in November 2024, which required Israeli forces to withdraw from border villages within 60 days. Observers say violations of the agreement continue, with Israeli forces remaining in some positions and carrying out periodic attacks. (QNA)
