Landmine Blasts Kill Syrian Soldier, Wound Four Others
Damascus, November 07 (QNA) - A Syrian military personnel was killed, and another was grievously wounded when a land mine exploded as they were operating to dismantle explosive remnants of war (ERW) in the Al-Mayadeen area of eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside, according to Syria's Media and Communications Department at the Defense Ministry.
Three civilians were wounded in two separate land-mine explosions in Daraa countryside Saturday. The first blast occurred as two young men were collecting stones in the plains between the cities of Inkhil and Al-Sanamayn, while the second struck a car in the Al-Lajat area east of the province.
ERWs continue to claim lives across Syria, with seven people, including three children, killed and 11 others wounded in six blasts late last October.
