Arab States and Regional Organizations Condemn Damascus Bombings
Capitals, July 07 (QNA) - A number of Arab countries and regional organizations have condemned twin bombings near Syria's Ministry of Tourism in Damascus that injured 18 people, expressing solidarity with Syria and reaffirming their opposition to terrorism.
Saudi Arabia denounced the attacks "in the strongest terms", reiterating its rejection of all terrorist and extremist acts aimed at undermining Syria's security and stability.
Kuwait described the bombings as a criminal act targeting the country's security and renewed its longstanding opposition to violence and terrorism in all its forms. It also expressed support for measures taken by the Syrian authorities to protect the country's stability and its people.
Oman also condemned the attacks, reaffirming its solidarity with Syria and its rejection of violence and terrorism.
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, condemned what he described as a terrorist attack and called for greater regional and international cooperation to combat terrorism and address its root causes. He also expressed the GCC's support for Syria's efforts to safeguard its security and wished those injured a speedy recovery.
The Muslim World League issued a separate statement condemning the attack and reaffirming its opposition to terrorism and violence in all forms.
Jordan also denounced the bombings, expressing its full solidarity with the Syrian government and people and rejecting acts of terrorism aimed at destabilizing the country.
The Palestinian presidency similarly condemned the attacks, voicing support for Syria's security, stability and territorial integrity, while rejecting violence and terrorism targeting innocent civilians.
Earlier on Tuesday, Syria's Interior Ministry said 18 people had been injured in the twin explosions near the Ministry of Tourism in central Damascus. (QNA)
