Earthquake of 5.1 Magnitude Strikes Papua New Guinea
Port Moresby, May 07 (QNA) - An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale struck Papua New Guinea on Thursday.
The US Geological Survey reported that the earthquake's epicenter was located at a depth of 142.3 km.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
Papua New Guinea lies within the Ring of Fire, a seismically and volcanic active zone along the Pacific Ocean. This region contains 90% of the world's active volcanoes. (QNA)
