Beirut, February 07 (QNA) - Israeli attacks on Lebanon continued, with shelling targeting several towns in the country's southern regions.

The Lebanese National News Agency reported that Israeli occupation forces targeted, earlier on Saturday, outskirts of the towns of Alma Al-Shaab and Aita Al-Shaab with machine-gun fire.

A ceasefire agreement in southern Lebanon entered into force on 27 November 2024, stipulating the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from border villages and towns in southern Lebanon within 60 days. Subsequently, the Beirut government approved an extension of the deadline until 18 February; however, the occupation army remained at five points.

Israeli occupation forces continue to commit violations, which exceeded 7,000 airspace breaches and more than 2,400 military activities within the area of operations of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in southern Lebanon since last November. (QNA)
