Ankara, January 7 (QNA) - Turkiye and Malaysia signed several agreements on Wednesday aimed at strengthening strategic cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

This came after the first meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council between the two countries, held in Ankara, with the participation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

The agreements included strengthening cooperation in the areas of investment, finance, information and communication technology, and economic and social research.

During a joint press conference with the Malaysian Prime Minister, the Turkish President affirmed that his country will continue to enhance cooperation with Malaysia, particularly in the defense industry.

Erdogan noted that he held talks with the Malaysian Prime Minister that addressed regional and international developments, expressing his satisfaction with the convergence of the two countries' views on international issues.
