Kazakhstan President, Sultan of Oman Discuss Developments, Cooperation
Astana, October 06 (QNA) - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held talks on Tuesday with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman, who is currently conducting a state visit to Kazakhstan.
The discussions dealt with Omani-Kazakh relations and the two countries' shared and mutual understanding and desire to deepen cooperation.
Following this, the two sides chaired an expanded official discussion session with the presence of official delegations from both sides.
The session touched on partnership between the two countries in energy, mining, transportation, logistics, food security, tourism, technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and financial and investment services.
They exchanged points of view regarding several issues and regional and international developments and coordinated stances that aim to solidify security and peace in the region.
The two sides signed five agreements and ten Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) in the aftermath of the official session.
The agreements included membership inclusion in the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), the establishment of the EDB in Oman, mutual promotion and protection of investments, air transportation, and establishing an Omani-Kazakh business council.
The MoUs pertain to diplomatic studies and academic training, development and cooperation in finance, culture, and youth sectors, communication and information technology, healthcare, agriculture, and livestock and fisheries, in addition to strengthening international corridors connectivity. (QNA)
