European Stocks Open Mixed
Brussels, October 05 (QNA) - European stock indexes opened Monday's trading mixed; French equities faced pressure from heavy selling of Schneider Electric shares, while other markets benefited from falling oil prices.
Among major European markets, France's CAC 40 index fell 0.53 percent, weighed down by a 6.48 percent drop in Schneider Electric shares following the French group's announcement of an agreement to acquire the software company PTC.
In contrast, Germany’s DAX index held steady, edging up 0.06 percent, and Italy’s MIB index rose 0.30 percent despite the euro's decline against the dollar, and the UK's FTSE 100 index gained 0.14 percent. (QNA)
