Magnitude 5.7 Earthquake Strikes Dominican Republic
Santo Domingo, August 05 (QNA) - An earthquake measuring magnitude 5.7 on the Richter scale struck on Tuesday La Altagracia province in the Dominican Republic.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) reported that the earthquake occurred 35 kilometers from the town of Boca de Yuma located in the province, at a depth of 194.6آ kilometers.
There have been no reports of casualties or material damage due to the earthquake so far.
The Dominican Republic is prone to natural disasters, experiencing drought, earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, landslides, and extreme temperature fluctuations. (QNA)
