Beirut, May 04 (QNA) - President of Lebanon, General Joseph Aoun said on Monday that the negotiations with Israel track is now irreversible, stressing that Lebanon has no other option to achieve a ceasefire.

In his remarks, Aoun added that the goals of any negotiation process with Israel must include its withdrawal from occupied Lebanese territories and the return of Lebanese detainees, rights that Lebanon has been demanding for years.

Through adherence to national decision making and unity, the country can face all challenges, the Lebanese President stressed, adding that negative narratives about internal strife in Lebanon are unfounded.

The meetings taking place in Washington under American sponsorship are an important achievement for Lebanon, which is receiving the personal attention of US President, Donald Trump, a major opportunity that must be seized, Aoun emphasized. (QNA)
