Oman's GDP Surges 5.1% in Q2

Muscat, October 04 (QNA) - Oman's real gross domestic product (GDP) at constant prices grew 5.1 percent in the second quarter of 2026, reaching approximately OMR 9.9 billion, compared with approximately OMR 9.4 billion in the same period last year.

Preliminary data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information showed that petroleum activities grew 14.7 percent in the second quarter of this year, reaching approximately OMR 3.4 billion, compared with approximately OMR 3 billion in the same quarter last year.

The data also showed that non-petroleum activities increased 0.7 percent in the second quarter of this year, reaching approximately OMR 7.0 billion, compared with approximately OMR 6.8 billion in the corresponding quarter last year.

The data indicated that agriculture and fishing activity increased 2.3 percent, reaching OMR 325 million, compared with OMR 317.8 million in the second quarter of last year.

Industrial activities, meanwhile, declined 1.5 percent, reaching approximately OMR 1.9 billion, compared with approximately OMR 2.0 billion in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Services activities also increased 1.5 percent, reaching approximately OMR 4.6 billion, compared with approximately OMR 4.5 billion in the second quarter of last year. (QNA)
