5.9-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Sumbawa Region in Indonesia
Jakarta, October 04 (QNA) – A magnitude 5.9 earthquake struck the Sumbawa region of Indonesia, with no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
The German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) reported that the earthquake occurred at 22:55 GMT on Saturday.
The epicenter was located at a depth of 10 kilometers, with preliminary coordinates at 9.69 degrees south latitude and 118.93 degrees east longitude.
Sumbawa is situated in the West Nusa Tenggara province, a region prone to frequent seismic activity; Indonesia's Meteorology and Geophysics Agency has recorded several tremors in the area in recent days. (QNA)
