Qatar's Bassem Hemeida Wins 400m Hurdles in Bellinzona
Geneva, August 30 (QNA) - Qatar national athletics team runner Bassem Hemeida won the 400 metres hurdles at the Bellinzona athletics meeting in Switzerland today, which featured a number of leading athletes from around the world.
Hemeida clocked a season-best personal time of 47.56 seconds.
He broke the 48-second barrier for the first time this season, improving on his previous mark of 48.17 seconds, which he set last week at the Lausanne Diamond League meeting in Switzerland.
Hemeida's participation in international competitions across the Diamond, Gold, and Silver categories is part of the Qatar Athletics Federation's programme to prepare national team athletes for the Asian Games, which will be held in Nagoya, Japan, next month.
Hemeida is also a member of Qatar's 4x400m relay team, in addition to competing in the 400m hurdles. (QNA)
