Damascus, November 28 (QNA) - At least 11 people, including women and children, were killed and several others were injured in an Israeli attack that targeted the town of Beit Jinn in the Damascus countryside at dawn on Friday.
The Syrian News Channel reported that a number of dead and wounded remain trapped under the rubble, noting that Israeli warplanes continued to fly over the road connecting the town of Beit Jinn with the Beit Jinn farm.
For its part, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) said that Israeli occupation forces shelled Beit Jinn with artillery at 3:40 a.m., while a military unit entered the town, arrested three people, and later withdrew.
SANA added that residents confronted the incursion force, which opened heavy fire, leading to violent clashes between the Israeli troops and local residents.
At the same time, Israeli aircraft carried out intensive aerial patrols over the area, while warplanes dropped incendiary balloons following the clashes.
The agency further reported that the town is witnessing a wave of displacement, with residents fleeing to nearby areas for safety.
This escalation comes amid continued Israeli violations in southern Syria, in breach of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement and relevant UN Security Council resolutions. (QNA)
