Baghdad, October 25 (QNA) - Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein met on Saturday with his Croatian counterpart Gordan Grlic Radman to discuss ways to enhance bilateral relations and explore joint cooperation opportunities between the two countries.

According to a statement from Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting reviewed bilateral ties and addressed several issues of mutual interest, particularly in fields of trade, economy, and energy.

The statement noted that both sides discussed the role of Croatian companies operating in Iraq, especially in the electricity sector, cooperation in mine clearance in coordination with the Ministry of Environment, as well as projects in light weapons production in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior and specialized Croatian companies.

The meeting also explored potential cooperation in agricultural sector, given Croatia’s advanced expertise in this field, and ways to strengthen tourism and cultural exchanges between the two countries.

The Iraqi Foreign Minister highlighted discussions on oil and gas sector, noting that Iraq begun investing in associated gas and raised the possibility of cooperation with specialized Croatian companies in this area.

For his part, the Croatian Foreign Minister expressed his country’s willingness to develop joint cooperation in oil, gas, energy, and defense sectors, praising Iraq’s role in consolidating security and stability in the region. (QNA)
