Doha, March 25 (QNA) - HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting on Wednesday at the Amiri Diwan.
Following the meeting, HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi stated the following:
At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet renewed its condemnation and denunciation of the Iranian attacks on the State of Qatar and on the fraternal countries, demanding their immediate cessation, in compliance with the provisions of international law and in respect for the Charter of the United Nations and the principles of good neighborliness.
The Cabinet affirmed that the State of Qatar retains its full right to respond, and will not hesitate to take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty, security, and the safety of its citizens and residents on its territory.
The Cabinet stressed that the State of Qatar continues its tireless efforts, in coordination with its regional and international partners, to support finding diplomatic solutions to end the escalation, in a way that ensures respect for the sovereignty of states, preserves the security and stability of the region, and spares its peoples further risks and repercussions.
On the other hand, the Cabinet voiced its sincere condolences to the families of the seven martyrs from Qatar's Armed Forces, the joint Qatari-Turkish forces, and the Turkish civilian collaborators, who were martyred while performing their national duty as a result of the crash of Qatar's Armed Forces helicopter in the territorial waters of the State of Qatar, wishing them mercy and their families and relatives patience and solace.
The Cabinet then considered the topics listed on its agenda. The Cabinet was informed of the Shura Council's approval of a draft law on international treaties and agreements.
The draft law, prepared by the Ministry of Justice in light of Article 68 of the Constitution, aims to establish the general framework for regulating the procedures for concluding and acceding to international agreements and treaties, activating the roles of the competent authorities and clarifying the jurisdictions, enhancing transparency and legal oversight, harmonizing national legislation with international obligations, and strengthening the state's position in its international relations.
The Cabinet decided to approve the draft memorandum of understanding (MoU) regarding conducting political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia.
The Cabinet concluded its meeting by reviewing four reports and making the appropriate decisions regarding them, namely: a report on the strategy of the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) during 2024-2030, the annual report on the results of the work of the coordinating committee for mechanisms to protect Qatar railway facilities "Qatar Rail" for 2025, a report on the results of participation in the work of the 355th session of the Governing Body of the International Labour Organization (ILO) (Geneva - November 2025), a report on the results of participation in the 38th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Transport, and the 6th Smart Transport, Logistics and Traffic Fair and Forum for the Middle East and Africa (TransMEA 2025) (Cairo - November 2025).
