LoginQF Opens Registration for 2027 "Akhlaquna" Award
Doha, August 24 (QNA) - Qatar Foundation's (QF) Pre-University Education has announced the opening of registration for the 2027 edition of its Akhlaquna initiative. Applications can be submitted on www.akhlaquna.qa and will be accepted until 17 December 2026.
This year's edition welcomes entries across four age categories: the Baraem (Young Children) category for participants aged 7 to 14; the Youth category for those aged 15 to 18; the Young Adults category for individuals and groups aged 18 to 25; and the Individual Contributions category open to participants aged 25 to 45 from Qatar and across the Gulf countries, said QF in a press statement today.
According to the statement, this edition marks the tenth year in the journey of the Akhlaquna Award, which, over the years, has highlighted individuals and young people who have embodied ethical values through initiatives and projects with tangible impact. Their efforts have helped foster a culture of values-driven community initiatives and inspired others to play an active role in their communities.
Project Manager and member of the Akhlaquna Award, Ahmed Yousuf Al Malki said: "The tenth year marks an important milestone in the journey of the Akhlaquna Award, reflecting its continuity and success in embedding ethical values and transforming them from concepts into practices and initiatives that have a meaningful impact on society.
"Over the years, the Award has highlighted individuals and young people who have become positive role models and created tangible change within their communities. This year, we aim to expand the reach of the Award and bring its message and values to a wider audience, particularly young people, encouraging more of them to translate the values they believe in into actions and initiatives that create a positive and sustainable impact."
Al Malki noted that the Award seeks projects and initiatives that embody ethical values and translate them into tangible and sustainable impact across areas including education, community service, volunteering, and other fields that contribute to positive social and ethical impact.
"We place particular emphasis on innovative initiatives that address real-world challenges, demonstrate a clear concept and impact, have the potential for sustainability and growth, and inspire others," he said.
"The evaluation goes beyond the project or initiative itself to consider the participant's own impact, their positive role within their community, and their ability to create meaningful change and promote ethical values at school, university, or within the wider community," he explained.
Al Malki emphasized that the initiatives submitted to the Award demonstrate young people's ability to turn ideas into action, and action into meaningful impact within society.
"We hope participation will give young people an opportunity to showcase their ideas and initiatives and help them recognize that age is no barrier to making an impact," Al Malki said adding "We want to see young people who believe that change starts with the individual and who turn their ideas into tangible, sustainable impact in their schools, universities, and communities, while inspiring others to follow their example."
Encouraging individuals to apply this year, Al Malki said: "You do not need significant resources to start making an impact. Start with what you can do, within your own community, and with the value you believe in. The Akhlaquna Award is not only looking for an outstanding project, but for individuals who embody a value, translate it into action, and make a genuine positive difference in the lives of others."
