CBO Issues Treasury Bills Worth OR 60 Million
Muscat, March 24 (QNA) - The Central Bank of Oman (CBO) announced that the total value of treasury bills allocated this week reached OR 60 million.
In a statement released today, the CBO explained that the value of 28-day treasury bills allocated amounted to OR 30 million, with an average accepted price of OR 99.713 per OR 100. The lowest accepted price was OR 99.710 per OR 100, while the average discount rate was 3.74777 percent and the average yield was 3.75857 percent.
The value of 91-day treasury bills allocated amounted to OR 30 million, with an average accepted price of OR 99.025 per OR 100.
The average discount rate was 3.91071 percent, and the average yield was 3.94922 percent.
The statement issued by the Central Bank of Oman (CBO) indicated that the interest rate on repurchase agreements (repos) with the CBO for these treasury bills is 4.25 percent, while the discount rate with the CBO on treasury bill facilities is also 4.25 percent.
Treasury bills are a short-term, guaranteed financial instrument issued by the Ministry of Finance to provide investment opportunities for licensed commercial banks
