Magnitude 5.1 Earthquake Strikes Northwestern China
Beijing, February 23 (QNA) - An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale struck on Monday Yuli County in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
China Earthquake Networks Center reported that the quake occurred at a depth of 15 kilometers, noting that the quake's epicenter was located at 40.88 degrees north latitude and 84.17 degrees east longitude.
There have been no reports of casualties or material damage due to the earthquake so far.
Chinese authorities said that emergency response and firefighting staff were dispatched shortly after the quake, with rescue teams sent toward the epicenter. (QNA)
