5.3-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Papua New Guinea
Port Moresby, December 22 (QNA) - An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale struck Papua New Guinea on Monday.
The US Geological Survey reported that the epicenter was located 157 km from Kokopo, at a depth of 10 km.
Papua New Guinea lies within the Ring of Fire, a seismically and volcanically active zone along the Pacific Ocean. This region contains 90% of the world's active volcanoes. (QNA)
