OIC Decries Houthi Remarks Targeting Saudi Arabia
Jeddah, July 21 (QNA) - The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly denounced the Houthi threats against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, maritime security, and the freedom of international trade.
In a statement Tuesday, the OIC General Secretariat stressed that the Houthi group's remarks are unprovoked and unacceptable in any way, emphasizing that the ongoing threat to maritime navigation imperils regional and international security.
It noted that these actions form part of a series of attacks and baseless allegations unleashed by the group, the most recent of which has been the attack on the southern region, as well as threats targeting maritime traffic.
The OIC reiterated that it fully stands with Saudi Arabia in all measures it takes to safeguard its security and stability. It called for the enforcement of the UN Security Council resolutions concerning Yemen and the rights and freedom of navigation in the Red Sea. (QNA)
