Cabinet Holds Regular Meeting
Doha, April 22 (QNA) - HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani chaired on Wednesday the Cabinet's regular meeting at the Amiri Diwan.
Following the meeting, HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi stated the following:
At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet praised the efforts of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to de-escalate tensions, support the path of calm, and prioritize diplomatic solutions and dialogue for resolving disputes, as these efforts contribute to strengthening security and stability at both the regional and international levels, and to ensuring smooth flow of energy supply chains through vital maritime routes.
These efforts included HH the Amir's visit to Muscat and his talks with his brother HM Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of the sisterly Sultanate of Oman, as well as his previous talks in Doha with HE Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, and HE President of the European Council Antonio Costa. This was followed by a joint meeting in Antalya, Turkiye, with HE President of the Republic of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan and HE the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, on the sidelines of His Highness's participation in the Antalya Diplomacy Forum 2026. His Highness also met in Doha with HRH Crown Prince of the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II.
The Cabinet expressed hope that all parties will respond to ongoing mediation efforts, in a way that leads to consolidating the ceasefire between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran, and continuing negotiations with genuine intent to achieve lasting peace, preserve the security and stability of the region, and safeguard the resources of its peoples.
The Cabinet then considered the topics on its agenda and reviewed a draft law amending some provisions of Law No. 11 of 2016 on the State Audit Bureau, and took the appropriate decision thereon.
The Cabinet also decided to approve joining the membership of the International Transport Forum (ITF).
The meeting concluded with the Cabinet reviewing three reports and taking appropriate decisions regarding them. These included: a report on the results of participation in the fifth edition of the Real Estate Future Forum (Riyadh – January 2026), a report on the results of participation in the 28th extraordinary meeting of the Committee of Transport Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states (Kingdom of Bahrain – March 2026), and Report No. 19 on the results of the work of the National Committee for Civil Aviation Security.
