Doha, March 22 (QNA) - Under its Ramadan Campaign 1444 AH "Humanity First: Give to Charity", Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has launched the second "Khairkum Sabeq" initiative, sponsored by Ooredoo and supported by a number of companies and shopping centers.
The initiative is aimed at supporting poor families in Qatar, improving their food security during the holy month of Ramadan, and strengthening the bonds of solidarity and compassion among rich and poor people. To that end, Ramadan baskets are prepared with foodstuffs of various types and sizes, including canned food, dairy products, juices, meat, and poultry. The boxes are available at the participating supermarkets, for the costumers to purchase them by making payments via QRCSs website or while shopping at any branch of Lulu Hypermarket, Spar, Souq Al-Baladi, Widam Food Co., Family Food Centre, and Mega Mart. Then, the purchased boxes are presented as a gift for the benefit of those in need. QRCS will coordinate with the partners to deliver these Ramadan baskets to the families registered with its social assistance programs.
Bilateral cooperation agreements were signed by QRCS, Lulu Hypermarket, Al Khalaf Trading and Marketing (KTM), Spar, Widam Food, Souq Al-Baladi, Family Food Centre, and Mega Mart.
The agreements were signed, from QRCS side by Acting Secretary-General of QRCS Faisal Mohamed Al Emadi, and by the partner agencies, agreements were signed by CEO of Widam Food Al Nubi Salem Al Marri, Chairman of KTM, Shanavas Padiyath, Regional Manager of Lulu Hypermarket, Kobus Lombard, General Manager of Spar Ali Hassan Al Khalaf, CEO of Souq Al-Baladi, Parmpolipat Payoril Jamalo, General Manager of Family Food Centre, and Lalchand Pagarani, Retail Manager of Mega Mart Hani Al Sayadi.
