MWL Slams Remarks of US Ambassador to Israel
Makkah Al Mukarramah, February 22 (QNA) - The Muslim World League (MWL) has strongly condemned the remarks of the United States Ambassador to Israel, in which he indicated it would be acceptable for Israel to exercise control over lands belonging to Arab states, including the occupied West Bank.
In a statement issued Sunday, Secretary-General of the MWL, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al Issa, stressed that these false and irresponsible remarks represent an unprecedented disregard for the security of the region and the sovereignty of its states, and constitute a flagrant violation of all international laws and norms, in addition to contradicting the clear commitments set forth in the US peace plan.
The Secretary-General further stressed that the sole guarantor for achieving the desired peace and stability in the region lies in the enforcement of the resolutions and calls of international legitimacy, including the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and the "New York Declaration" for a two-state solution, endorsed by the United Nations General Assembly, concerning the Palestinian people's historic and established right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state.
