Ehsan Celebrates World Alzheimer's Day
Doha, September 21 (QNA) - The Center for Empowerment and Care of the Elderly (Ehsan) is celebrating World Alzheimer's Day, held September 21 of each year, within its efforts to spread social awareness of the disease and support elderly and people affected by it and their families, as well as instill values of loyalty and respect and include this dear group in society.
Ehsan is sharing on this occasion a series of awareness materials that focus on the importance of patience, understanding and communication with elderly people with Alzheimer disease, in addition to better understanding social responsibility towards them and their families who play a pivotal role in caring for them and supporting them.
In line with World Alzheimer's Day, Ehasn is illuminating a number of buildings and landmarks in purple, the official color related to Alzheimer, to bring the attention of society in supporting affected people and their families and the challenges they face.
Sheikha Ahmed Al Harib, the director of the communication and media department at the center, stated that World Alzheimer's Day represents an important day to renew commitment towards elderly people with this disease and their families, as well as strengthen social awareness in the importance of supporting them and caring for them.
Spreading awareness and educating people over the disease contributes to building a more understanding society and encourages taking care of people who are dearly beloved to others, she added. (QNA)
