QCSF Announces 2026-2027 Sports Calendar
Doha, September 20 (QNA) - Marking the International Day of University Sport, the Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation (QCSF) has announced its calendar of activities for the 2026-2027 sports season.
The season will feature 22 competitions across 12 sports, involving both male and female students at educational and higher education institutions across the country.
The calendar forms part of the Federation's efforts to promote sports within the educational and university community, broaden participation, and provide students with more chances to compete in a diverse range of individual and team sports.
Running from October 2026 through May 2027, the season's competitions will include padel, cricket, volleyball, table tennis, football, chess, cross-country, futsal, esports, swimming, basketball and shooting.
HE QCSF President and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi said that work is being done to make sports an integral part of education and university life, and provide students with more opportunities to participate and compete.
For his part, QCSF Secretary-General, Rashid Saeed Al Odaiba said the fact that this season will feature 22 competitions across 12 sports reflects diversity and the Federation's commitment to expanding student participation opportunities.
Coinciding the announcement of the new calendar with the marking of the International Day of University Sport underscores the importance of sports in bringing students closer, building a more active educational experience and university community, and making sports an integral part of student life.
Throughout the season, the Federation will continue to cooperation with educational and higher education institutions and sports bodies across Qatar, contributing to the development of university sports and expanding participation. (QNA)
